Saying పక్కా as “paka” instead of holding క్క. Pronouncing కిరాక్ too softly; it needs energy. Using తీస్కో in a stiff formal tone. Saying దుమ్ము without the doubled మ్ము. Overusing English pronunciation in code-mixed slang.
If someone older than you uses slang first, you may respond lightly. But do not start with slang in formal or respectful situations.
Think of slang as “friend-mode Telugu.” Before using it, ask: Am I speaking to a friend? Is the mood relaxed?
Telugu slang changes quickly through movies, social media, student life, Hyderabad speech, and youth culture. Some words become popular for a few years and then fade. Regional identity also matters. A phrase may sound normal in one city and unusual in another, so observe before copying.
